Taipei; Taiwan 2014 - Back in Taipei

I am blogging the last Taiwan 2014 post.
Nothing much to update for Taipei city as I've been there many times.
As usual, we went to our favorite shopping spots like Ximending, Wufenpu and Shilin Night Market but open to explore some new areas of Taipei.

A pic near our stay in Kaohsiung. Beautiful plants so took an #OOTD there.

At Zuo Ying HSR station, just had to pop by 7-11 to buy some snacks as we had 1hr plus journey to Taipei.

Tried the latest Liptop tea in Original classic, I think I still prefer the Mellow Vanilla flavour.

Just had to #welfie.

This time during our Taipei stay, we selected the Arline Inn at Ximending.
It is very very convenient, very near to Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle 阿宗麵線.
Room is cozy, and good enough for us.
Just that before 10pm, there are noises above us due to pub I guess.
Also, the lift to the hotel reception is rather dodgy.

On the first day in Taipei, we just go shopping at Ximending area.
Did some errands like going to Carrefour to stock up cup noodles and packet drinks.
Had our dinner at our usual Mala (馬辣) steamboat.
Then stopped by a cafe to rest and have Milk Tea.

Also bought specs. #嫌钱太多

Since BF got G-Shock craze, I decided to look out for the G-Shock store in Taipei on the 2nd day.
The nearest MRT station is ZhongXiao DunHua (忠孝敦化) station.
Since we are at Zhong Xiao DunHua area, we also dropped by Honey Creme store.
Here's a map that I did for my information.

Lunch at TONCHIN (屯京拉麵).
It was one of the recommendations when I was searching for food info.
If I am not wrong, its the 2nd time eating ramen in Taiwan.
Seriously, I don't like the ramen in Taiwan.
Don't as me why, I just don't like.

Anyway, the portion is really big.
Both BF and I couldn't even finish the pork and the noodles.

Just an #OOTD.

This is one of the interesting thing that I saw in Taipei.
Its located in Shilin Night Market.
Penis shaped cake.
Actually it was BF's friend who wanted him to buy this as a souvenir, that's how I know this quirky stuff in Taipei. LOL.

Last day in Taipei, just have to reminisce all the food and place.
Had Ah Zhong Mian Xian.

One of my HK colleague introduce me to try this D2 (Devil x Dessert) cake.
Lots of variety.

Then went to Danshui for to buy their specialty.

The sun set in Taipei/ Danshui.

As promised, done my Taiwan post within 2015. LOL~
This year I didn't go Taiwan.
Most probably next year, I also do not have plan to go Taiwan.
Due to saving up for wedding and I also want to travel to Finland for Aurora!
Hopefully, my plan to Finland during the last quarter of 2016 would fulfill.

P.S: Hokkaido travelogue next!

Taipei; Taiwan 2013 - Random Taipei Baby~

So this gonna be the last part for my 2013 Taiwan trip.
Actually, I didnt take much photos when I was in Taipei because I've been there so many times.
This 3D2N Taipei trip was a kind of rush so its gonna be a shopping trip.

As previously mentioned in the last Cingjing post, we took e-go bus back to Taichung, from there we took the HSR to Taipei.
So about 2~3hrs later, we reached Taipei.

In the HSR, we bought the bento from 7-11 as our lunch.
Actually you can buy the bento inside the HSR but we missed out the lunch time.
So that's okay, we hope to try it next time.

Checked into See You hotel located at Taipei Main Station.
Its our first time staying at this hotel so we had quite a hard time finding it.
The room is very cosy, we had a nice stay there.
Just that the breakfast they provided is a KFC voucher, which is very weird. Haha~

Lying on the bed, and we can see this pretty galaxy on the ceiling. :)

After which, we headed out.
First, went to check out the post office near our hotel because we wanted to send food stuff back to Singapore. Haha~

Then we went to Taipei 101 and I bought this Prada wallet.
Have been longing to get this and I got it at TWD19,500, not yet tax refund.

After which, we went to Ximending to roam.
Dinner at Ba Hai 八海 steamboat which located at Ximending.

Next day, we went to find Carrefour which is near Ximending.
Bought a lot of instant noodles, cup noodles and packet of drinks and shipped back to Singapore.
Everything was cheap, cost us about S$50+.
We were very happy with our buys.

There's carton of boxes inside the Carrefour.
So after you pay for the food, you can pack it and carry back to your hotel.

We packed it like this and the next day we went over the post office to send these back to Singapore.
There's shipment by air and by sea.
By air takes shorter time but expensive while by sea takes longer time but cheaper.
We shipped by air because we wanted to receive it in a shorter time.

Bought back Pony's 3rd book! Happy buy~

Finally got a rain boots because of Singapore weather.
I hate wet shoes.

And this is our last food in Taiwan before heading back to Singapore.

Pardon me for the boring Taipei post this time.
Finally ending this Taipei 2013 travelogue.
As much as I want to go back Taiwan, I still hope to explore the other parts of the world. :)
See you Taiwan!

Taipei; Taiwan 2012--- Chiang Kai Shek (CKS) Memorial (中正紀念堂)

Hi, this is the last attraction post while I was in Taipei with my family this April.
So one of the days when we were in Taipei, i brought my mum and sis to Chiang Kai Shek (CKS) Memorial (中正紀念堂).
The place covers a history of Mr Chiang Kai Shek (蒋中正).

CKS Memorial Hall "on my head".

One more! Actually my sis is photobombing behind me.
However, my camera decided not to focus her.. LOL~

The architectural of the buildings are very well designed.

Even the green patch of grass at the side looks so pretty~

Lai, I must take a pretty pic here too. :p
You can see that I put minimum make up and without contact lens here.

Walking closer to the memorial hall.

Then I saw my Sis doing something in the lion's mouth.
She's actually playing/touching the stone ball inside the guardian lion's mouth which said to give good luck?

So, I also want to play with it.
Me want good luck too! Hehehe..

Ok, climbing up the stairs to the top!

Its actually 3 storey high if i am not wrong.
Because there's lift downward to other storey to see the other historic stuff and also paintings.

Overlooking the place from the Memorial Hall at the top.
Pretty isn't it?

Left side.

Right side.

When we went inside, we saw 2 soldiers guarding the place and were standing stationary.
Many people crowding around and taking photos with the soldiers.
Every hour they would changed shift.
I feel that standing about 45 mins (15 minutes of marching to change the guard) not moving is quite a tough job. =/

And this is the statue of Mr. Chiang Kai Shek.

Don't really understand the meaning of the Chinese sentence but still that its quite meaningful.

Taiwan flag logo at the ceiling.

The soldiers marching in to change shift.

Here's the video below that I took.
Sorry for the bad video quality because my camera died on me when I wanted to video it so when the soldiers was coming out (as shown in the above photos) I didn't manage to capture it.
By the way, their marching pattern are so different from ours.

FYI, the opening hours of the CKS Memorial Hall.
There's no entrance fee needed to visit the place.

Ok, ending this post now.
Bye.
