Supper at The Ramen Stall

Since boyfriend had reservist and booked out late, we met up for late night supper.
Was researching for supper and found out a ramen store that opens till late.
Usually, we had supper like dim sum.
Finding it interesting, we decided to try it out.

We order quite a few dishes to fulfill our hungry stomach.

Cha Siew Ramen ($11.00)
We ordered the pork broth. They had chicken broth as another choice too.
I quite like the cha siew as it's tender.

Salmon Sashimi($9.90) is fresh.

ChawanMushi ($3.90) is so-so only.. Quite bland.

Fried Salmon Skin ($6.90) are quite different from the other stores. The skins are really thin. Don't prefer this though.

The hot green tea we ordered was ridiculously $2 per cup which is expensive.
Overall, the food is okay only.
The price we paid in total (approx $60), can eat at a better store though.
I guess this will be our last visit. :)

Charcoal Thai Kovan

I was craving for Mookata so I suggested to Boyfriend that we had our dinner at Charcoal Thai @ Kovan.
We wanted to go to the branch at Vivocity but the queue was really long so we tried our luck in Kovan.
Surprisingly there's wasn't much people when we were there at 8.30pm.

When we were at the doorsteps, the staff wasn't very attentive so we just walked in and find one clean table to sit.
Yes, clean table because some tables were not clean up yet. =/
We settled down, look at the menu and submit our orders.
Here's our order...

Thai Tea (S$3.90)

Our set meal (Usual Price: $39.90) for 2 consists of a basket of veggies and meats.

Stir fried prawn as side dish. (S$12..90)

Overall, food is okay.
I like the vegetable soup as the base for Mookata.
The meat is not very marinated so the taste is so-so only.

Anyway, I got the offer from the facebook page.
However I am quite disappointed that the T&C is not stated clearly.

As you can see that the dinner is $14.90 instead of $39.90.
However, I was told that it is $14.90 per pax.
Yes it is still cheaper overall but its not stated clearly, cheating people's feeling, how can??

Anyway, we don't want to make difficult situation for the waitress so we just paid and went off.
Don't think we will go back again.
Overall, I still prefer Mookata from Tom Yum Kungfu.

Chicken Up & Mei Heong Yuen Dessert

Boyfriend was craving for Korean Fried Chicken so after researching, we decided to go Chicken Up to try the food there.

Yangnyum Chicken Wings ($12)

Ganjang Chicken Wings ($12)
I preferred something like this than to the Yangnyum chicken wings.
Doesn't really like fried food with sauces and stuff..

Japchae ($12)
The noodle is very Q and not oily.
Best that I've eaten so far in Singapore.

I guess the watermelon soju is also popular there.
However, boyfriend is not a drinker and I can't be the only one finish up that, so we didn't order.
It's kind of a waste because I see many other table ordered it and I can't get to try. :(
So you got to try it.

After our dinner, we headed down to Chinatown Point for dessert.
Wanted to bring boyfriend to try the snow ice at Mei Heong Yuen Dessert store.

Watermelon and Lychee Snow Ice ($6)
The snow ice is big enough to share for 3 person.
We almost eat until brain freeze. Haha..
Really love this and the store is really crowded so I guess it's famous.
There are also stores at ION and Temple Street around Chinatown area.

The Rustic Bistro

Today's Friday lunch at The Rustic Bistro, which opened recently along China Street located in the CBD area.
My colleague thought that we should go try this since we have no idea what to eat..

The bistro is like cafe style, small and cosy.
Really like the ambiance there. :)

Here's the weekday menu.

I ordered the Chicken Aglio with the set meal which cost me S$14.40.

Soup of the day is Cream of Mushroom and I had Lemonade.

Chicken Aglio without chilli.
I love the spaghetti which is not too hard and not too soft.
But I think they put too much olive oil which make it quite oily.

I hope to try the waffles one day which only available on weekend.
I'm having this craving for waffles with ice-cream nowadays. *slurp*
Oh and they have all day brunch menu on Saturday too.
So these are some reason to patronize back on the weekend.

Hai Di Lao Hotpot 海底捞火锅

I haven been doing much food reviews nowadays right??
Had lunch at Hai Di Lao with my ex-colleague (Qiwei, Lynn and Kinyi) today.

Always heard good reviews there and was really excited when I am finally getting to try the good food!
Hai Di Lao is a steamboat restaurant from China which serve Sichuan hotpot style with wide selection of meats, seafood, vegetables and sauces.
While waiting for your table, there's complimentary of drink, snacks and females can even do manicure!
We didnt get to the complimentary manicure because we already made reservation like 1 month before. *Kiasu*

The food was really yummy and I have to say that they have really great service!

2 soups based we choose are chicken soup and mushroom soup.
Its good that the soups comes with those ingredients for us~

Pork and Beef Shabu Shabu

Veggies in a bowl. Look so cute~

Fish.

If I am not wrong this is the Cuttlefish cakes with spinach juice.
And if you call for Raman, he ramen master will come to your table and make the ramen fresh.
It is sort of a performance show. Haha..
Here's a short video. :)

Overall, the 4 of us spent about $200 in total.
So each pax is around $50 for the good food.
I will patronize with my family again next time~ :D

Crab Feast + Chillax Time

SheauWei invited me to join her and her friend for a crab feast at Master Crab Seafood Restaurant, a sze char hawker centre around Ghim Moh.
Its my first time hearing this store, the concept is similar to Mellben Seafood.
Because we have a total of 6 people eating, we ordered quite big portion of food.
Total crabs ordered = 4 pcs! =O

Said to be the signature dish here, Salted Egg Yolk Crab, I would say that the sauce is really rich and tasty.

Another dish we ordered is the Crab Mee Hoon which I find that the soup is not enough taste.
Also, the Mee Hoon is not very Q. Still prefer the one from Mellben Seafood.

Cant remember the name of this dish but it is fried tofu's skin wrapped with prawn.
Really crispy and tasty which is one of the favorite dish there.

Fried chicken coated with flour making the skin really crispy.

Stir Fry Four Season Green Bean is quite oily..

Sambal Kang Kong with Squid is really spicy~

Side dish, satay.

It was a great fun night when we pull Alma to the stage to perform 2 songs~ :D
We video-ed the performance down. Might upload it if I got the feel. :p

JB Saturday

So boyfriend and I went to JB last Saturday despite my passport only left 5month plus validity.
Was lucky that I'm not stopped by the custom officer at Malaysia side.
Was hoping that we can get through safely.

So sad that my passport gonna be expired and I gonna renew it.
This passport has brought be to many place since I was at the age of 21!
And now I gonna renew it already..
I know the new passport can bring me to more place but I will miss the old one.
#念旧啦怎样? Haha..

So the usual shopping at Holiday Plaza, KSL and then we went back to City Square to have dinner.
First time trying the Dragon-I and the food was good.
Especially the roasted duck.

Yums~ All the good food for that night!
Overall, its not expensive for Singaporean for an atas restaurant. Hee~
Cost us about RM120, approx S$48 for 2 pax, cheap right?!
Shall tried other newly open restaurants there in future.
You shall try too~ ;)

Qi Wei Chicken Claypot 奇味鸡煲

Met up with my ex SDSAP colleagues (Qi Wei and Kinyi) for dinner.
They decided to bring me to try the food at Qi Wei Chicken Claypot 奇味鸡煲.
Nearest train station is at Kovan and the store is just beside Domino Pizza store.
There's another store at Punggol Nasi Lemak Centre too.

Not my first time trying the chicken claypot.
I had it the first time in NEX Mall called Chicken HotPot.
The food taste almost the same and I love the stew.
The difference are the pot here is much much bigger than the pot in NEX and duh its cheaper here too!

We had also taken some side dishes like cabbages, mushrooms and beancurd.
All inside the claypot cooked as you can see in the below picture.

Had a very full dinner.
Each of us paid about $19 for 3 people including drinks and few side dishes.
The business here are good so do come early to avoid long queue.

Mookata @ Golden Mile Complex

Boyfriend decided to eat Mookata for dinner after our JB trip last Saturday.
Its my 2nd time trying Mookata, the thai style steamboat.
Previously which was our first time, we had it at Tom Yum Kungfu located at Circular road.

This time, we went to Golden Mile Complex to try the other one.
The outside of the store look like this..

There were still queue when we were there at about 8.30pm.
I guess its quite popular..
But we didnt wait too for to get a table for ourselves. :)

The food just came without us ordering.
We only ordered the Thai milk tea and the bowl of rice.
But the rice was not cooked fully so we didnt eat it.. -_-"

Pardon for my bare face. No make up that day..

Anyway the food portion was quite big.
And its cheap too! We paid $44 for everything including the drinks and the bowl of rice.
$22 per pax for all the veggies, meat and seafood is worthy.
But its really unhealthy though..
I recommend you to drink lots of green tea (tea bags kind) to clear your body system after you eat the food. :)
